I’ve never heard of anyone that accomplished anything noteworthy without an army of support. The ‘birth’ of Commonfolk is the result of a lifetime of accumulated encounters with fellow humans… some highly admirable, some deeply troubled. All were teachers, who shaped my understanding about who I want to be and who I do not. I am hesitant to call out names here because I don’t want to risk excluding important people. That said, I will name one. Thank you, mom, for modelling all things I strive to emulate: walking lightly on the earth, seeking ‘awe’ and connectivity, communal thinking (and action!), emotional resilience, adaptive thinking, a commitment to leading an examined life, and… for never clipping my wings.
